Scotch Whisky Documentary

I'm back from Scotland! It was a great time over there! The country is amazing and the people there are incredibly friendly and outgoing. I can't imagine trying to do something like field school in another country after being there. Here is my final edit on my whisky documentary that I did for my class. I had a blast shooting it - enjoy!

Coopers

Coopers are workers who make the barrels whiskey sits in for at least three years, sometimes as high as 53 (the highest age I've seen so far). I was lucky enough to get to check them out and they were all pretty cool, very friendly and very helpful.

A bit o dram

I finally started on my project about whiskey today. I took a beautiful, hour and half train ride north just a little into the Highlands. Everyone at the distillery was incredibly nice and helpful. There are only two employees usually working on distilling so it was hard to get people in my photos. But the man who showed me around (pictured below) was very nice and told me tons of info about whiskey. I got a free taste of five different kinds they make, a free bottle of whiskey beer and a 20% discount on two bottles I bought from their shop. I hope to go back soon when they are filling the barrels and stenciling them with the year and other info that gets put on the barrel.

Scotland (part 1)

I've been in Scotland for about a week now. I have been slacking on taking photos so far but here is a handful from my first few days of school.
